ZOROASTER AND THE IMPORTANCE OF GOOD CHARACTER

….it is said that His mother was visited by angels while she was carrying Him. Zoroastrian tradition tells us that, when Zoroaster was born, a new star appeared in the sky, and all the surroundings were illuminated as if encircled in a ring of fire.

Avesta-Inspired Bookmarks
Materials: Cardstock, markers, calligraphy pens, ribbon.
Activity: Create bookmarks featuring inspirational quotes or teachings from the Avesta, such as “Good thoughts, good words, good deeds.” Decorate the bookmarks with traditional Persian patterns or symbols of light, which are significant in Zoroastrianism.
Mountain Meditation Diorama
Materials: Shoebox, clay, paint, natural materials (stones, twigs).
Activity: Build a diorama that represents the secluded mountains where Zoroaster meditated. Include elements like a small clay mountain, a stream, and a peaceful landscape to reflect the spiritual purification process.
Good Thoughts, Words, and Deeds Tree
- Materials: Paper, colored pencils, small branches, a vase or pot, string.
- Activity: Create a “Tree of Virtues.” Write or draw examples of good thoughts, words, and deeds on paper leaves, then hang them on the branches. Discuss how these virtues can be practiced in daily life.
Symbolic Persian Sun Craft
Activity: Make a symbolic sun, representing light and knowledge. Paint a sun on a paper plate and add rays made from tissue paper. Write key teachings from Zoroaster around the sun’s edge. content here…

Avesta Knowledge Scroll
Materials: Brown paper, tea for aging, string, markers.
Activity: Create a scroll that mimics ancient Persian manuscripts. Write a short passage about Zoroaster’s teachings or the story of King Vishtaspa accepting his message. Roll it up and tie with string to create a knowledge scroll.
